Hulu has ordered “How I Met Your Father,” a sequel series to “How I Met Your Mother,” with Hilary Duff attached to star.
In the near future, Sophie (Duff) tells her son the story of how she met his father – a tale that catapults us back to 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.
It reportedly remains unclear how/if the new show will tie into the original. “This Is Us” co-showrunners and “Love, Victor” co-creators Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger serve as writers and executive producers on the new series.
Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, who created the original, are also on board as executive producers. 20th Television will produce the new series as it did with the original.
