Lucy Liu is returning to the big screen, the actress set to play a villain named Kalypso in the upcoming “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” for Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line and DC Films.
This sequel once again stars Zachary Levi as the adult version of teenager Billy Batson (Asher Angel) who transforms into a superhero.
The character is the second daughter of the titan Atlas and sister to Hespera, the lead villain being played by Helen Mirren. Rachel Zegler also stars.
David F. Sandberg is back as director while Henry Gayden is doing the script. Liu has spent the past decade mostly doing TV with series like “Why Women Kill” and “Elementary,” though occasionally pops up in film like Netflix’s rom-com smash “Set It Up”.
“Shazam! Fury of the Gods” begins filming in May for a June 2023 release.
