Nicholas Podany (“Hart of Dixie”) has joined The CW’s pilot of the live-action “The Powerpuff Girls” sequel series “Powerpuff” in the role of Joseph ‘Jojo’ Mondel Jr.
In the new series, the girls are now disillusioned twentysomethings who resent having lost their childhood to crime-fighting.
As a kid, the nerdy, power-hungry, insecure JoJo was obsessed with the girls. As an adult, JoJo finds his sweetness and rage in constant battle.
In the cartoon, he was the show’s primary villain – a green chimpanzee mutated in the same incident that created the Girls.
He joins a cast including Chloe Bennet, Dove Cameron and Yana Perrault as the three girls and Donald Faison and Professor Utonium.
