Break out your red speedos and your baby oil boys, Starz has unveiled the first images from its pro wrestling drama “Heels”.
“Arrow” star Stephen Amell and “Vikings” alum Alexander Ludwig put it on display in these first shots which marks a return to TV for both actors.
Amell plays Jack Spade, the charismatic villain (‘heel’) of the Duffy Wrestling Association (DWA) who in the real world is its hard-working owner along with being a husband and father trying to make ends meet while fighting to realize his impossible dreams in his close-knit Georgia community.
He also has a Steve Jobs-ian need for perfection and control, doing whatever it takes to build the DWA into an empire – even at the risk of his marriage and the relationship with his brother Ace (Ludwig) as they duel over their late father’s legacy.
Mary McCormack also stars as Jack’s business partner, while Allison Luff, Kelli Berglund, Chris Bauer, Robby Ramos, Allen Maldonado, Trey Tucker, Roxton Garcia and Super Bowl champion James Harrison co-star.
Creator and writer Michael Waldron (“Rick and Morty,” “Loki”), and showrunner Mike O’Malley (“Survivor’s Remorse”) both executive produce. “Heels” is set to release this summer on Starz.
