New Line’s launch last week of the red-band trailer for the new “Mortal Kombat” film has racked up 116 million views in one week.
As a result, it has become the biggest red band trailer launch of all-time – taking over both “Logan” and “Deadpool 2” in its fourth day and continuing to power forward.
The trailer also trended in dozens of markets on Twitter and YouTube, and has registered a most impressive 98% Positive-to-Neutral ‘social sentiment’ rating which measures how well it was received.
It is not the biggest trailer launch for an R-rated film however, that still belongs to the first trailer for the first “IT” film which smashed records with 197 million views in just 24 hours.
The new “Mortal Kombat” debuts both in cinemas and on HBO Max on April 16th.
