Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar says she believes she is too “long in the tooth” for any potential reboot of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”.
Appearing on the On with Mario Lopez podcast, the now early 40s actress remains young-looking but the series requires a teenager in the role of The Slayer and she won’t do a ‘mentor’ style-role.
After all, the monsters her character of Buffy Summers tackled were “a metaphor for the horrors of adolescence” she says. She goes on to say:
“I do think that story lends itself, it’d be interesting to see how a chosen one would deal with that. I don’t think it’s me, I don’t think I should be the one doing it. [I am] way too tired and cranky to put in that work again. I love that the story holds up and that people are calling for that.”
In the same interview, she was asked but declined to discuss the topic of the allegations regarding the conduct of creator/showrunner Joss Whedon who is accused of abuse on the set.
