“The Raid” director and “Gangs of London” series co-creator Gareth Evans has signed an exclusive deal with Netflix to produce and direct films for the studio.
The first film under the deal has also been announced and will be titled “Havoc” with Tom Hardy on board to star. Evans will write, produce and direct the film with Hardy and Aram Tertzakian also producing.
The story is set after a drug deal gone wrong and a bruised detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son, all while unravelling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.
Filming aims to begin late June in Wales. Evans and Netflix previously worked on the Dan Stevens-led horror thriller “Apostle”.
