STX Films has now picked up U.S. and international rights to the action-thriller “Violence Of Action” for Thunder Road Films and 30WEST.
The project marks a reunion of “Hell Or High Water” duo Chris Pine and Ben Foster. Pine plays James Harper who, after being involuntarily discharged from the Marines, joins a paramilitary organization in order to support his family.
He and his elite team head to Berlin on a black ops mission to investigate a mysterious threat. Barely into his first assignment, he finds himself alone and hunted across Europe, where he must fight to stay alive long enough to get home and uncover the true motives of those who betrayed him.
Gillian Jacobs, Eddie Marsan, Fares Fares, Nina Hoss and Amira Casar co-star. Tarik Saleh (“The Nile Hilton Incident”) is directing from a script by J.P. Davis. Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee are producing.
