Even though the casting of several major roles was only just announced the other day, HBO Max has officially given their upcoming “Gremlins” animated prequel series a second season renewal.
“Gremlins: The Secrets of the Mogwai,” hailing from Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Television and set in 1920s Shanghai, is expected to debut later this year and boasts the voices of Ming-Na Wen, BD Wong, James Hong and Matthew Rhys.
It’s one of several announcements made Wednesday by HBO Max which intends to expand its Kids and Family unit by adding more than 300 hours of content.
Also joining “Gremlins” will be three new “Ben 10” specials, a new series titled “Craig of the Creek” from the writers of “Steven Universe,” a spin-off of “Teen Titans Go,” the fourth season of “Infinity Train,” a third season of “Victor and Valentino,” new martial arts series “Jade Armor,” a new “Thomas & Friends” entry, a series of animated “Tom and Jerry” musical shorts with an educational component, and more.
