Untitled Aronofsky Project
Hong Chau (“Watchmen,” “Downsizing”) has scored the female lead role alongside Brendan Fraser in Darren Aronofsky’s untitled new film (previously known as “The Whale”) at A24. Samantha Morton and Sadie Sink are also reportedly in negotiations to join the cast.
MacArthur-winning playwright Samuel D. Hunter pens the script about a reclusive English teacher (Fraser) suffering from severe obesity who attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter (Sink). Chau will play his best friend. Filming begins in March. [Source: Flickering Myth]

Serinda Swan is set to play a young Elizabeth Taylor in the war movie “Devotion” at Black Label Media. Jonathan Majors, Glen Powell, Joe Jonas, Thomas Sadoski and Christina Jackson co-star while “Sleight” helmer J.D. Dillard will direct.
Jake Crane and Jonathan Stewart wrote the script for the aerial epic which will chart the true story of U.S. Navy fighter pilots, Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner, two young men from different worlds pushed to their limits flying a new design of fighter jet. Firestarter
Michael Greyeyes (“True Detective,” “I Know This Much Is True”) has been cast as the villain Rainbird in the adaptation of Stephen King’s bestselling novel “Firestarter” at Universal-Blumhouse-Weed Road Pictures. Keith Thomas directs.
The story follows a young girl who develops pyrokinetic abilities and is abducted by a secret government agency that wants to harness her powerful gift as a weapon. George C. Scott played the Rainbird role in the original 1984 film adaptation. [Source: The Wrap]

Storm Reid (“Euphoria”) is set to join Kevin Bacon, Colson Baker and Travis Fimmel in the thriller “One Way”. Casie Baker, Drea de Matteo, Meagan Holder, Thomas Francis Murphy, Luis Da Silva Jr., Rhys Coiro, Danny Bohnen and Scotty Bohnen co-star.
Freddy (Baker) goes on the run with a bag full of cash after a robbery of his former crime boss goes wrong. With a potentially fatal wound, he slips onto a bus headed into the unrelenting California desert. Andrew Baird will direct from a script by Ben Conway with shooting underway in Georgia. Untitled Ray Romano Dramedy
Ray Romano and Laurie Metcalf will star in an untitled dramedy that Romano will direct starting April 19th in New York City. Romano and Mark Stegemann co-wrote the script.
The pair play a couple who live a blue-collar life in Queens, surrounded by the big personalities of their overbearing Italian-American family. Their lanky soft-spoken son finds success on his high school basketball team and a life beyond this. [Source: Deadline]
