“You’re Next” and “Godzilla vs. Kong” helmer Adam Wingard will direct the remake of the 1997 John Woo thriller “Face/Off” for Paramount Pictures.
The original starred John Travolta and Nicolas Cage as an FBI special agent and a terrorist, respectively. The two arch-enemies assume each other’s identity by physically switching faces.
Joan Allen, Alessandro Nivola, Gina Gershon, Dominque Swain, Nick Cassavetes, Harve Presnell, Colm Feore, and John Carroll Lynch co-starred in the film which earned $245 million globally.
Wingard will write the script for the remake with longtime collaborator Simon Barrett, the pair previously penning 2014’s “The Guest” and 2016’s “Blair Witch”. Neal Moritz will produce.
