Michael Imperioli
Former “The Sopranos” actor Michael Imperioli has teamed with Alec Berg to develop a scripted series for HBO which they will co-write and executive produce with Imperioli also set to star.
The untitled project is described as a meta blend of fact and fiction loosely based on Imperioli’s experiences as a practising Buddhist. Amy Solomon will also executive produce. [Source: Variety]
Clarice
Transgender actor, writer, producer Jen Richards, who was brought on as a consultant on CBS’ “Clarice,” has now joined the series in an on-screen as well. The show premieres on February 11th.
The character reportedly intersects with Clarice’s storyline and her identity as a trans woman prompts her to discuss with Clarice the complicated legacy of Buffalo Bill. Early reviews for “Clarice” have been surprisingly good. [Source: Variety]
Amend: The Fight for America
Netflix has released the trailer for six-part docuseries “Amend: The Fight for America” hosted by Will Smith. The series will discuss the creation of, interpretation of, and practice of the 14th Amendment (deals with citizenship, due process & equal protection).
The series boasts a mix of archival footage, interview soundbites, and previews of readings of famous public figures speaking for or against the Fourteenth Amendment. Samuel L. Jackson, Mahershala Ali, Yara Shahidi, Pedro Pascal, Randall Park, and Diane Lane among others appear.
Punky Brewster
Peacock has premiered the trailer for the revival of “Punky Brewster” with Soleil Moon Frye reprising the role as an all-grown-up Punky who is dealing with life as a single mother of three.
The ten-episode series, which also stars Freddie Prinze Jr. as Punky’s ex-husband, is scheduled to debut on Thursday, February 25th. The series is written and executive produced by Steve and Jim Armogida.
