Two months after the departure of original showrunner Joss Whedon, HBO has Philippa Goslett as showrunner and executive producer of the epic sci-fi drama “The Nevers”.
Whedon is still being credited as creator and executive producer. The reasoning for his departure remains unknown, though he issued a statement indicating he wasn’t able to take on the physical challenge of running a show of this size during the pandemic.
The series follows a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that might change the world.
Laura Donnelly, Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Ben Chaplin, Pip Torrens, Amy Manson, Nick Frost, Ann Skelly, Zackary Momoh, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor Tomlinson and Denis O’Hare star.
Jane Espenson and Doug Petrie also serve as co-writers and executive producers alongside executive producer Bernie Caulfield.
