Dennis Quaid and Virginia Madsen have signed on for the Jon Erwin and Andrew Erwin-directed sports drama “American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story”.
The story chronicles Kurt’s journey from stocking shelves at a supermarket to becoming a two-time NFL MVP. Zachary Levi and Anna Paquin lead a cast that includes Ser’Darius Blain, Adam Baldwin, Bruce McGill, Danny Vinson, Chance Kelly, and Hayden Zaller. [Source: Deadline]
She-Hulk
Ginger Gonzaga (“Kidding”) is set to co-star opposite Tatiana Maslany in Marvel’s “She-Hulk” legal comedy series at the Disney+ service. Kat Coiro and Anu Valia will helm the episodes.
The story centers on the eponymous heroine (Maslany), aka Jennifer Walters, an attorney who has similar powers to her cousin Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Gonzaga plays Walters’ best friend. [Source: Deadline]
12 Mighty Orphans
Sony Pictures Classics has acquired worldwide distribution rights to Ty Roberts’ film adaptation of Jim Dent’s novel “12 Mighty Orphans”. Luke Wilson, Martin Sheen, Vinessa Shaw and Robert Duvall star.
The true story tale follows the Mighty Mites, the football team of a Fort Worth orphanage who, during the Great Depression, went from playing without shoes or a football to playing in the Texas state championships. [Source: Variety]
