Steven Knight’s BBC & Netflix period crime drama “Peaky Blinders,” which has proven a big hit overseas, will end after its sixth and final season.
The series began in 2013 and follows the story of Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and his notorious family’s rise to power against the backdrop of working-class, post-WWI Birmingham. The most recent season scored an average Live+7 audience of 5.9 million in the U.K. alone.
Production on the final season has resumed in the U.K. under strict COVID guidelines. Knight however has promised that the story will “continue in another form.”
