Matt Damon will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for “Thor: Love and Thunder” according to The Daily Telegraph.
The outlet reports that Damon and his family arrived in Sydney yesterday on a private jet and will serve the mandatory two weeks quarantine for all incoming travellers in a private facility.
His other American co-stars including Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Tessa Thompson are currently doing their quarantine in a government hotel.
The main cast members and director Taika Waititi have been in Australia for months prepping for the shoot. Intriguingly two other MCU actors – Thor’s Idris Elba and Doctor Strange’s Tilda Swinton – are also presently in the country shooting projects.
Damon had a small cameo as an actor playing Loki in a stage play in Asgard in the previous film “Thor: Ragnarok”. It’s unclear if he’s playing the same role again or more likely a larger one considering the long quarantine seems a lot for shooting a brief cameo.
Damon and his family have previously spent months in the Byron Bay area near co-star and long-time friend Chris Hemsworth’s large estate.
