Amazon To Adapt Givney’s “Jane in Love”

Amazon Studios and Di Novi Pictures have acquired feature rights to Rachel Givney’s breakout novel “Jane in Love” which turns novelist Jane Austen into her own screen heroine.

Givney will adapt her own novel which sees Austen striking a Faustian bargain to find love, and ends up time-travelling from 1803 to the present day.

When she falls in love with a modern-day man, all her books begin disappearing. She must decide – stay in the 21st century where she has found love but lost the ability to write, or return to her own time and write her books (though never marry or have children).

Denise Di Novi and Margaret French Isaac are producing while Elissa Down (“The Black Balloon”) is attached to direct.
