Cazzie David, Justin Cornwell, Britne Oldford, Genesis Rodriguez and Jake Epstein have all joined the cast of the third season of Netflix’s superhero dramedy “The Umbrella Academy”.
The new cast will play “Sparrows,” the new class of sorts who are enrolled at the so-called “Sparrow Academy” at the center of the third season. A timeline reset sees the group arriving back to find a new group of ‘seven’.
Cornwell is the chiseled colossus of a leader Marcus (#1), returnee Justin H. Min will play the Machiavellian tactician Ben (#2), Oldford is the smart but misanthropic Fei (#3), Epstein is the battle scarred bruiser Alphonso (#4), Rodriguez is the romantic dreamer Sloane (#5), and David is the snarling hooded loner Jayme (#6).
Yet to be cast is a newcomer in the role of Christopher (#7), a dread-inducing telekinetic Psykronium Cube of unknown origin. It serves as the family mediator and oracle.
Showrunner Steve Blackman returns alongside cast regulars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Ritu Arya, Adam Godley and Colm Feore.
Shooting is slated to begin in February in Toronto.
