Unsurprisingly Marvel Television’s supernatural spooker “Helstrom” has been cancelled after just one poorly received season at Hulu.
The series was the last live-action project from former Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb following “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD,” “Inhumans” and the various Netflix series like “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones” – all of which are now gone.
Marvel’s live-action TV series are now exclusively a part of Disney+ and will now tie directly into the MCU’s central storyline.
Aside from “SHIELD,” Loeb’s shows almost never tied into the films beyond the odd reference. “SHIELD” did so more directly in its first season then drifted away from that with time, however it was entirely one way – not impacting the films at all.
While there have been fan attempts to bring back some elements in recent weeks, namely Charlie Cox’s Daredevil following the recent reversion of the rights back to Marvel, there is no indication of Marvel Studios doing any such thing.
All that remains from Loeb now are two animated series at Hulu – “MODOK” and “Hit-Monkey” which are on track to bow during the first half of 2021.
