Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special
This past Friday’s “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special” premiere hit No. 1 on the Apple TV+ streaming service in more than 100 countries since launch. The holiday special arrived with a companion soundtrack that was released exclusively on Apple Music and scored the largest number of holiday album first-day streams on the service. [Source: THR]

No Stone Unturned
NBC has begun development of the drama series “No Stone Unturned” based on Steve Jackson’s book of the same name. “Reign” writer Drew Lindo and “Blindspot” creator Martin Gero are executive producing for Universal TV.

The story follows the NecroSearch international investigation team – a group of the nation’s top scientists, specialists and behaviorists – use the latest technology and most advanced techniques to solve ‘unsolvable’ crimes outside the justice system. [Source: Deadline]

Dark Matter
Apple TV+ along with Sony Pictures Television and “Future Man” producer Matt Tolmach are teaming for a series based on Blake Crouch’s novel “Dark Matter”. Crouch will pen the script. Still in early development, the series will explore “the paths both taken and not as well as how far we’ll go to claim the lives we dream of”. [Source: Collider]

The Poppy War
Rebecca F. Kuang’s series of fantasy novels, which starts with “The Poppy War,” are set to be adapted for television by Starlight Media (“Midway”). A showrunner will soon be attached.

Inspired by the mixture of the atmosphere of Song dynasty and the Second Sino-Japanese War in mid-20th-century China, the books build an imaginary world of shamanism and classical Chinese legends with adventure. [Source: Deadline]
