“One Day at a Time” Is Officially Over

The critically acclaimed reimagining of Norman Lear’s sitcom”One Day at a Time” that began life at Netflix, and has since been cancelled twice, will not be returning.

The series ran for three seasons on Netflix before being cancelled in 2019. Pop TV stepped in and rescued the show, producing a handful of episodes before the pandemic shut down production.

Two weeks ago Pop canceled the series before production could resume again and producer Sony Pictures Television tried shopping around the series.

Now co-creators Gloria Calderon Kellett and Mike Royce have confirmed on social media the series will not be revived there or anywhere else. It appears they were unable to find a suitable or willing buyer.

In total 46 episodes of the series were produced.
