First Trailer: Studio Ghibli’s CG “Earwig”

The first trailer has been released for Studio Ghibli’s “Earwig and the Witch,” their first ever CG animated feature.

Based on the 2011 children’s novel of the same name by Diana Wynne Jones (“Howl’s Moving Castle”), the story follows a smart orphan girl named Earwig as she gets adopted by a woman named Bella Yaga, who turns out to be a cruel witch that takes her to live in a haunted house.

Goro Miyazaki, son of “Spirited Away: director Hayao Miyazaki, serves as director. The project is also a co-production of Studio Ghibli, NHK, and NEP.
