Studio Entertainment One and filmmaker Spike Lee are reportedly preparing a currently untitled musical feature about Pfizer’s erectile dysfunction drug Viagra.
Lee will direct from a screenplay he has written with Kwame Kwei-Armah based on the David Kushner Esquire article “All Rise”. That article covered the true events of how an ineffective treatment for heart-related chest pain had an altogether different affect and perked up sex lives around the world.
Original songs and music will be written by the acclaimed songwriting team of Stew Stewart and Heidi Rodewald (“Passing Strange”). The project will be the next Spike Lee Joint following his double this year of Netflix’s “Da 5 Bloods” and HBO’s concert film “David Byrne’s American Utopia”.
