HBO Max’s “Peacemaker,” the TV series spin-off of James Gunn’s upcoming “The Suicide Squad” film, is bringing more actors along for the ride.
The series puts the focus on John Cena’s Peacemaker character – a man who believes in peace at any cost – no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. Gunn wrote all eight episodes of the series, and is directing multiple episodes including the first.
Today it has been confirmed that Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland and Chris Conrad have all signed up. Brooks will star as Leota Adebayo, Patrick as Auggie Smith, Holland will reprise her film role of ARGUS operative Emilia Harcourt, and Conrad plays Vigilante/Adrian Chase. Steve Agee also reprises his role of Belle Reeve warden John Economos.
Gunn and Peter Safran produce and production is due to begin shortly before Gunn shifts his attention to “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” which already has a completed script and production heads in place according to Gunn himself this week.
“The Suicide Squad” will release August 6th 2021.
