Jake Gyllenhaal is in talks to star in the Michael Bay directed contained thriller “Ambulance,” a remake of Laurits Munch-Petersen’s 2005 Danish psychological thriller.
The original centered around bank robbery involving a returned veteran from Afghanistan and his brother. However, the robbery didn’t go as planned with the brothers having no choice but to take hijack an ambulance and take a female paramedic and a patient hostage.
As the situation escalates, old wounds reopen in the relationship between the brothers as they fight to survive what seems like an impossible situation. Dylan O’Brien is reportedly circling the part of the younger brother and Eiza Gonzalez is up for the role of the paramedic but no deals are yet set.
Chris Fedak (“Prodigal Son”) is penning the script with James Vanderbilt, Bradley Fischer, and William Sherak set as producers. Shooting is targeting a January start in Los Angeles.
