Massive Entertainment (“The Division,” “Far Cry 3,” “South Park: The Fractured But Whole”) has reportedly delayed the upcoming “Avatar” video game inspired by James Cameron’s 2009 feature and which was first announced in 2017.
Little else has been reported on it until a recent earnings call when publisher Ubisoft revealed that the game has been pushed back so as to closer align it to the release of the first of Cameron’s long-gestating film sequels in 2022.
The new game does not have an official title yet and is simply being referred to as The Avatar Project and marks the second game following the much cheaper and quicker developed 2009 game tie-in for the first film.
