Brosnan, Carter Lead Rom-Com “Not Bloody Likely”

Pierce Brosnan and Helena Bonham Carter have been set as the leads in romantic comedy “Not Bloody Likely” which will deal with the true story of the first staging of George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion” in 1914.

Brosnan plays Shaw who has written his masterpiece (later adapted into the Oscar-winning musical “My Fair Lady”) and is determined for the great Mrs. Pat Campbell (Bonham Carter) to play the role of Eliza Doolittle in a staging of the production on the West End.

But is her casting just a chance for Shaw to rekindle his once great love, the one that got away? Joel Hopkins (“Hampstead,” “The Love Punch”) has written and is directing the film which is being produced by Adam Rolston and David Braithwaite. Production is set for the UK in Spring 2021.

Carter can be seen in Netflix’s “The Crown” later this month, while Brosnan most recently appeared in Netflix’s hit “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga”.
