Walt Disney Animation Studios has premiered the first official trailer for the animated fantasy feature “Raya and the Last Dragon” and follows on from yesterday’s one-sheet.
The story unfolds in the mysterious realm of Kumandra and centers on warrior Raya (Kelly Marie Tran) as she seeks for the last dragon before the evil force of Druun destroys the realm. Awkwafina plays the dragon when it is in a human form named Sisu.
Written by Adele Lim (“Crazy Rich Asians”) and Qui Nguyen, the film is being directed by Don Hall (“Big Hero 6”), Carlos Lopez Estrada (“Blindspotting”), Paul Briggs (“Zootopia”) and John Ripa. It is targeting a March 12th 2021 release.
