Euphoria
HBO will bridge the gap between seasons of its Zendaya-led “Euphoria” with a pair of special episodes. The first is scheduled to premiere December 6th, the second has yet to be set.
The first is set in the aftermath of Jules being left at the train station and relapsing and will follow Rue (Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas. Both episodes were shot adhering to COVID-19 safety guidelines. [Source: The Live Feed]
The White Lotus
HBO has ordered the six-episode limited series “The White Lotus” from “Enlightened “creator Mike White. Filming begins in Hawaii this month with White writing, directing and executive producing.
Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Jake Lacy, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney and Steve Zahn lead the social satire following the staff and guests at a tropical resort over the course of a week. [Source: The Live Feed]
Peanuts
AppleTV+ is ordering more “Peanuts,” announcing new animated specials centering on Mother’s Day, Earth Day, New Year’s Eve, and Back to School. The new specials will be produced by WildBrain who is also teaming with Imagine Documentaries to create a new documentary devoted to the 70th anniversary of Charles Schultz’s iconic comic strip. Classic beloved specials like “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” and “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” are also all coming to the service. [Source: Apple]
The Underground Railroad
“Moonlight” director Barry Jenkins has revealed a ‘preamble’ teaser for Amazon Prime Video’s “The Underground Railroad,” the upcoming limited series based on the novel by Colson Whitehead. Chase W. Dillon and Joel Edgerton star inthe series which Jenkins and Whitehead executive produce.
The nine episodes follow Cora (Thuso Mbedu), a young woman who escapes a plantation in Georgia in hopes of finding the Underground Railroad. She’s unprepared to discover that there is an actual railroad network with tracks and tunnels underground.
