The “Wonder Woman” duo of actress Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins will re-team for the historical drama “Cleopatra” about the legendary queen of Egypt. Paramount Pictures picked up the project in a fierce bidding war.
Numerous actresses have taken on the part, most famously Elizabeth Taylor for her mega-budget spectacle that was so costly it nearly sent 20th Century Fox bankrupt.
Laeta Kalogridis (“Shutter Island”) will write the screenplay for the project which is separate from the long in the works Cleopatra biopic at Sony that has had Angelina Jolie and Lady Gaga’s names attached at points.
Further specifics for the film remain under wraps.
