Peacock has announced a Wednesday November 25th premiere date for “Saved by the Bell,” the upcoming reimagining of the iconic late 80s/early 1990s high school series.
In the new take, a number of kids from underfunded high schools whose doors Governor Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) closed end up at Bayside, giving the privileged preppies that roam those halls a new reality check.
The project isn’t being dubbed a ‘revival or continuation’ though does star some of its original cast in their original roles including Mario Lopez as AC Slater, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren as Jessie Spano, Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Zack Morris and Tiffani Thiessen as Kelly Morris.
New cast includes John Michael Higgens as Principal Toddman, Belmont Cameli as Jamie Spano, Dexter Darden as Devante, Mitchell Hoog as Mac Morris, Alycia Pascual-Pena as Aisha, Josie Totah as Lexi, and Haskiri Velazquez as Daisy.
All episodes of the first season are scheduled to drop on that premiere date. Tracey Wigfield serves as showrunner for the series which is produced by Universal Television.
