RLJE Films has acquired North American rights to Adam Egypt Mortimer’s action/thriller “Archenemy” starring Joe Manganiello.

Manganiello stars as Max Fist who claims to be a hero from another dimension who fell through time and space to Earth, where he has no powers. No one believes his stories except for a local teen named Hamster. Together, they take to the streets to wipe out the local drug syndicate. [Source: RLJE Films]

Bee Gees
HBO Documentary Films has acquired a Bee Gees documentary helmed by famed film producer and director Frank Marshall (“Arachnophobia,” “Alive,” “Congo”). The movie will trace the rise of Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb, who formed the band in the late 1950s and became disco era icons. The movie is set to make its debut on HBO and HBO Max later this year. [Source: HBO]

Vertigo Entertainment
Lionsgate Motion Picture Group has announced a first-look deal with Vertigo Entertainment (“IT,” “The Lego Movie”) which covers all media other than television where Vertigo’s Sony Pictures deal remains in place. As a result, Vertigo will become a prime provider to Lionsgate’s film slate. [Source: Variety]

Producer Jon Landau has shared more behind the scenes photos from James Cameron’s “Avatar” sequels currently in production in New Zealand. The shots show Garrett Warren, 2nd Unit Director, giving stuntman Steve Brown some notes before a take. The first sequel arrives December 2022.
