The first trailer for Craig Brewer’s “Coming 2 America,” the sequel to the beloved Eddie Murphy 1988 comedy classic, is incoming.
Trailer Track reports that the Alberta Film Ratings board has rated the film’s teaser trailer which clocks in at 1min 50sec and is being done by Paramount Pictures whom it would appear hasn’t sold it to Netflix (at least in North America).
Set after the events of the first film, former Prince Akeem Joffer is set to become King of Zamunda when he discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring his royal father’s dying wish to groom this son as the crown prince, Akeem and Semmi set off to America once again.
A listing on that ratings board site suggests the trailer will arrive online within the next two weeks or so. Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Shari Headley, John Amos, Tracy Morgan, Wesley Snipes, and James Earl Jones star in the film which hits cinemas on December 18th.
