Actor John Boyega is teaming with “Eye in the Sky” and “Tsotsi” helmer Gavin Hood for his next feature “The Test”.
An adaptation of Silvain Neuvel’s 2019 novel, the story is set in an authoritarian near-future and centers on a soft-spoken immigrant (Payman Maadi) as he takes a citizen evaluation test while a brilliant young behavioral psychologist (Boyega) supervising the test must confront a terrorist group led by a far-right fanatic.
Hood calls it a “heart-pounding psychological thriller, set in an authoritarian near-future that grabbed me by the throat and left me reeling”.
Boyega will soon be seen in “Naked Singularity” and Steve McQueen’s “Small Axe” films while Erwin Stoff is attached to produce.
