“Ready or Not” actress Samara Weaving has revealed to Collider that she was originally going to be a part of the fifth “Scream” film, but her commitment to Hulu’s “Nine Perfect Strangers” prevented that. Songbird
STXfilms has acquired rights to producer Michael Bay’s upcoming pandemic thriller “Songbird” – one of the few projects that was able to continue filming during the widespread lockdown back in March. The film recently wrapped its production in Los Angeles.
Set two years in the future during a pandemic lockdown, it follows the love story between motorbike courier Nico (KJ Apa), who has a rare immunity to the disease, and Sara (Sofia Carson), a young artist. Nico overcomes martial law, murderous vigilantes, and a powerful, well-connected family, helmed by a matriarch who will stop at nothing to protect her family and maintain her way of life. Enslaved
The BBC has acquired four-part documentary series “Enslaved: The Lost History of the Transatlantic Slave Trade” featuring actor and human rights activist Samuel L. Jackson. Simcha Jacobovici helms the series which sheds new light on four centuries of human trafficking, as millions of enslaved Africans were shipped to the Americas by Western European slave traders. Cobie Smulders has joined a female-led creative team to adapt Amy Stuart’s “Still” series of novels into a TV series for Lark Productions. Smulders will executive produce, while Lara Azzopardi (“The Bold Type”) is attached to adapt the books as showrunner and executive producer.
The debut novel features Clare O’Dey, a woman on the run from an abusive husband who becomes embroiled in the search for the truth about the suspicious disappearance of a local woman in a small mining town. [Source: Deadline]

Amazon has released a dozen new character posters for the second season of “The Boys” ahead of the show’s return on September 4th. In the new season, The Boys are on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought.
