Comedy Central has confirmed the already screened sixth season of its history-themed comedy show “Drunk History” has been cancelled.
The network recently aired the sixth season, and while the show was renewed for a seventh – the global pandemic put a stop before production began and Comedy Central changed its mind.
The show features a changing cast of actors and comedians who re-create historical events and has earned 17 Emmy nominations over the course of its run along with guests like Tiffany Haddish, Winona Ryder, Maya Rudolph, Seth Rogen, Kirsten Dunst, Will Ferrell, Tessa Thompson, Vanessa Hudgens, Colni Hanks, Quest Love and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The move is said to be in part due to Comedy Central making efforts to get out of live-action scripted series arena. Two other shows, “The Other Two” and “South Side,” have moved over to HBO Max leaving only “Corporate” (currently airing its final season) and “Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens” as their sole original scripted series.
