Sophie Okonedo (“Death on the Nile,” “Ratched”), Kae Alexander (“Game of Thrones,” “Fleabag”), Kate Fleetwood (“Harlots”), Peter Franzen (“Vikings”) and Clare Perkins (“Bullet Boy”) will join Rosamund Pike in Amazon’s big-budget fantasy series “The Wheel of Time”.
Based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling novels, the story unfolds in a high fantasy world where magic exists, but only certain women are allowed to access it.
Pike plays Moiraine as she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn (Josha Stradowski), a powerful individual who will either save humanity or destroy it.
Okonedo plays legendary Amyrlin Seat Siuan Sanche, Alexander is Min Farshaw, Fleetwood is Liandrin Guirale, Franzen is Stepin, and Perkins is Kerene Nagashi.
The series is being adapted for television by executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins for Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
