Filmmaker Zack Snyder is majorly upgrading one of the roles in his upcoming zombie heist action thriller film “Army of the Dead”.
THR reports that comedian Tig Notaro is stepping in to replace the disgraced Chris D’Elia in the same role, despite the two being nothing alike physically or personality wise.
The feature finished filming back in late 2019, after which allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment with underage women were made against D’Elia – allegations he’s since denied.
Now Snyder is reportedly readying a quick round of reshoots that will allow for Notaro to replace D’Elia in the film – the “Star Trek: Discovery” actress to be seamlessly inserted into the feature via some digital trickery combined with real filming with available actors.
How extensive the role is right now is unclear. Post has been underway for much of the year
Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi, Omari Hardwick, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Raul Castillo and Nora Arnezeder co-star in the film which is set in the aftermath of a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas and deals with a team of mercenaries who enter the quarantine zone to pull off a big heist.
