Actor Daniel Dae Kim’s GoFundMe campaign to raise money to help get beloved veteran actor James Hong a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has reached its goal of $55,000 in just three days.
New funding has been disabled for the campaign as it has reached its target. The funds will be for the creation and installation of the star and administration costs, assuming the nomination for the star is approved by the committee that selects stars for the Walk of Fame.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame doesn’t accept petitions or endorse GoFundMe campaigns, but have been made aware of this and say they are “happy to consider Mr. Hong if he agrees on the nomination in writing”.
Submissions take place early next year and should it fail, Kim’s campaign page says they will try again the following year.
