Zack Snyder Teases His Original Steppenwolf

Plenty of things about the theatrical cut of 2017’s “Justice League” over the years have been criticised, one common complaint being the character of Steppenwolf both in terms of bland characterisation and a design like something out of bad rip-off of the game “Dark Souls”.

Filmmaker Zack Snyder previously teased a far more formidable looking Steppenwolf in a deleted scene from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but that design was simplified and made more human looking for the mostly Joss Whedon-directed final feature.

Of course, Snyder is about to go back and deliver his original vision of the film with “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” on HBO Max next year with a trailer expected to be shown at DC FanDome in two weeks. This weekend, Snyder himself teased a glimpse of the original version of Steppenwolf via a low-res shot. Hopefully this means we’ll see that version in the trailer.

Speaking of Snyder, his “300” is coming to UHD disc and will arrive on October 6th with a 4K print that will boast HDR 10 and a Dolby Atmos audio track. There’s also an audio commentary with Snyder, co-writer Kurt Johnstad and director of photography Larry Fong.
