Dania Ramirez (“Heroes,” “Entourage”) is set to co-star in Netflix’s eight-episode series adaptation of Jeff Lemire’s comic “Sweet Tooth” which Robert Downey Jr. is executive producing for Warner Bros. TV.
The story follows a part-deer boy who leaves his home in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event. He joins a ragtag family of humans and animal-children hybrids like himself in search of answers about this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins.
Ramirez joins the core series regular cast including Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie and Adeel Akhtar. Will Forte has a recurring role and James Brolin serves as the narrator.
Ramirez is expected to play Aimee, a pioneer and scavenger in an abandoned city of dystopic America where she is building a sustainable habitat and giving orphaned hybrids a home..
Filming will take place in New Zealand in September.
