“Goodfellas” & “Sopranos” Guys Plan Mob TV Series

“The Sopranos” Emmy winning writer/executive producer Terence Winter and “Goodfellas” screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi are teaming for a mob drama series at Showtime.

Winter will write the untitled project based on Pileggi’s in-depth chronology of organized crime and corruption in America, this tale as seen through the eyes of the Mafia’s first family.

Showtime and Imagine Television are producing while Winter will executive produce with Pileggi, Brian Grazer and Samie Kim Falvey.

Both have long experience with gangster dramas, Winter having also created and executive produced “Boardwalk Empire” while Pileggi also co-wrote “Casino” with Scorsese.
