P-Valley
After just three of eight episodes have aired, Starz has renewed its critically acclaimed Mississippi Delta-set strip club drama “P-Valley” for a second season consisting of a larger ten episode order.

The series set a new record on the Starz App and ranks as its most-viewed series premiere, up 17% from its previous high. Viewership has increased week to week, up 27% from its first to third installment. [Source: THR]

Oprah
Apple TV+ and Oprah Winfrey have announced “The Oprah Conversation,” a new interview series exploring “impactful and relevant topics with fascinating thought leaders from all over the world”. The series will debut on the streaming platform this week.

Filmed remotely and incorporating audience engagement, Oprah offers “timely and intimate discussions with today’s foremost newsmakers, thought leaders, and masters of their craft” on a range of topics shaping the world. The series begins July 30th with the first interviews being author Professor Ibram X. Kendi and athlete Emmanuel Acho. [Source: Apple]

The Ellen DeGeneres Show
Following numerous accounts of problems with working conditions and treatment of legacy crew members among other issues, long-running daytime series “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” has reportedly become the subject of an internal investigation by WarnerMedia.

The show’s producer Telepictures and distributor Warner Bros. Television have reportedly sent out a memo engaging both WarnerMedia’s employee relations group and a third party firm to talk with current and former staffers about their experiences on set. [Source: Variety]

Eye Candy
Quibi has ordered “Eye Candy,” another series from Chrissy Teigen and based on the popular Japanese game show format “Sokkuri Sweets”. The series features teams of celebrities and civilians attempting to identify edible creations designed to look like everyday, ordinary objects.

The objective is to distinguish the edible creations from the not-so-edible objects; the real from the cake. Once the contestants make their choice, they must take a bite to see if they’re right. [Source: Variety]

Love in the Time of Corona
Freeform has released the first trailer for “Love in the Time of Corona,” a four-part two-night rom-com which will air August 22nd-23rd and stream the next day on Hulu. Shot using remote technologies, the action follows four interwoven stories about the hopeful search for love and connection during this time of quarantine. Leslie Odom Jr., Nicolette Robinson, Tommy Dorfman, Rainey Qualley, Gil Bellows, Rya Kihlstedt and L. Scott Caldwell co-star.
