HBO Max has announced that “Friends” is the “number one performing show” on its platform to date.
The announcement comes without any actual data to back up that viewership claim, and even what “performing show” means in this context isn’t clear as how the service counts viewership hasn’t been stated as yet.
The service also revealed that its other top performers included “Love Life” in second and “The Big Bang Theory” in third. They also say eight of its originals are in the top 25 series since which include “Doom Patrol,” “Looney Tunes Cartoons,” “Search Party,” “Expecting Amy,” and “Close Enough”.
One change with the transition to ‘Max’ has been demographics with 23% of HBO Max users falling in the 18-24 age bracket – significantly younger than that of those subscribing to HBO.
