“Spider-Man” Takes “Avatar 2” Vacated Slot

With “Avatar 2” having been pushed back a year, Sony Pictures is wasting no time in taking the prime release slot it left behind.

The studio has announced that the Tom Holland-led third film in the “Spider-Man” franchise will take over the vacated December 17th 2021 release date.

Originally slated for July 16th 2021, the new “Spider-Man 3” was then delayed to November 5th next year and now goes a little over a month later.

Holland is committed to shooting the long-in-development “Uncharted” film adaptation first with that production currently underway. He’s expected to jump directly from that into filming a third Spidey over the New Year with the plan to have wrapped his commitments to both films by February.

Holland is committed to also set to appear in another Marvel Studios film per the new agreement.
