The first trailer has been released for “Spree,” the found-footage thriller that was a smash hit at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
“Stranger Things” star Joe Keery plays Kurt, a 23-year-old rideshare driver for the Uber-like ‘Spree’ who is so desperate for social media attention that he’ll stop at nothing to go viral. He comes up with a plan to livestream a rampage of carnage.
Installing a set of cameras in his car he begins streaming his rides, he wildly miscalculates the popularity of his lethal scheme and his desperation grows. At the same time a stand-up comedian (Sasheer Zamata) with her own viral agenda crosses Kurt’s path.
Mischa Barton, John DeLuca, Josh Ovalle, Lala Kent, Frankie Grande, Kyle Mooney, and David Arquette co-star in the Eugene Kotlyarenko directed feature which arrives in cinemas, on demand and on Digital HD on August 14th.
