AMC Delays Re-Opening After “Tenet” Delay

AMC Theatres, the largest U.S. film exhibitor, says today it will postpone the re-opening of its domestic cinemas from the end of July to “mid to late” August due to the continued coronavirus pandemic.

As part of the statement they says: “This new timing reflects currently expected release dates for much anticipated blockbusters like Warner Bros.’ Tenet and Disney’s Mulan, as well as release dates for several other new movies coming to AMC’s big screens.”

Fellow exhibitors Cinemark and Regal Cinemas could follow suit. AMC has already reopened around a third of its screens in Europe and the Middle East.
