Last week the new came that Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” was being pushed back to an indefinite date from its original planned August 2020 debut. The delay was not unexpected – the production still has some shooting to complete before it’s ready to launch which makes anything earlier than a very late 2020 debut unlikely.
That was followed up by reports of the delay having a knock on effect. Specifically that the Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany-led “WandaVision” series was reportedly pushed back to a Spring 2021 debut. Today, Deadline reports that they have confirmed that “WandaVision” is still reportedly on track to debut later this year, not early next year.
“WandaVision” wrapped its main production shoot before the pandemic hit, though some additional shooting is expected to be done. “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision – two super-powered beings living their ideal 1950s suburban lives – begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
Kat Dennings will reprise her role of Darcy Lewis and Randall Park is returning as FBI Agent Jimmy Woo in the series which also stars Kathryn Hahn and Teyonah Parris.
