A24 has announced “The Green Knight: A Fantasy Roleplaying Game,” a tabletop roleplaying game that ties into David Lowery’s upcoming highly-anticipated film adaptation of the iconic Arthurian poem.
The synopsis for the game reads: “From the hallowed halls of Camelot to the mysterious wilds of the fabled Green Chapel, embark on a mythical journey across Arthurian lands in search of the Green Knight. Prepare to face highwaymen, ghostly damsels, mystical creatures and more. Your quest begins with the Game Master’s Guide, Map of the Realm, 5 Character Sheets, and a 20-sided die. With Honor at stake, will you rise to meet the challenge?”
A 1980s-esque commercial for the game has been crafted and can be seen below. The game is currently available to order on the official A24 website for $35, with plans to ship the orders to customers beginning August 7th.
Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie and Ralph Ineson co-star in the film in which King Arthur’s nephew Sir Gawain embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men.
