Netflix Offers “Lucifer” S5 & “Witcher” S2 Dates

Netflix has revealed an August 21st premiere date for the first part of the upcoming fifth season of their fan-favorite supernatural series “Lucifer”. Tom Ellis leads these first eight episodes of the new run which arrive more than a year since the series had its debut on Netflix.

The new season sees a “24” reunion of actors Dennis Haysbert and D.B. Woodside who play God and Lucifer’s brother Amenadiel respectively. The date announcement comes after a deal was closed for a sixth season.

Netflix has also announced that production on the second season of its fantasy series “The Witcher” will officially resume on August 17th. Production was put on on-hold in March after co-star Kristofer Hivju (“Game of Thrones”) contracted coronavirus whilst globally productions began shutting down due to the rising pandemic.

Hivju has since announced his full recovery from the virus on his social media platform. In the new season he plays Nivellen, a man cursed with a monstrous appearance. Kim Bodnia (“Killing Eve”) also joins the cast as Vesemir in the new season which will premiere sometime in 2021.

Finally today, Netflix has released the official trailer for the newest live-action series adaptation of Ann M. Martin’s classic book series “The Baby-Sitters Club”. The half-hour long 10-episode series will be available for streaming on Friday, July 3rd. Alicia Silverstone and Mark Feuerstein play the parents this time out.
